Turmeric rice

For this rice I always use brown rice which is more healthy and have more protein.


What is Turmeric :

In the U.S., turmeric is best known as a spice. It's one of the main components of curry powder. In India and other parts of Asia, turmeric is used to treat many health conditions. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and perhaps even anticancer properties and Curcumin, is the substance in turmeric, that may help to reduce inflammation. Ingredients:

1 cup brown rice

2 cups water if you desire you can substitute with low sodium vegetable broth.

1 tsp Vegan Chicken bouillon

2 or 3 cloves of garlic depend on how much you love garlic

1/2 yellow onion

1 or 2 bay leaves

1 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric powder

Mineral salt if needed


Method:

Rinse the rice. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the onions and garlic and a little bit of water to saute without oil. If the water evaporates add more until garlic and onions are cook. Add the rice and the rest of the ingredients. Increase the heat and bring to a boil. Then decrease the heat to low and cook for about 20 or 25 minutes.
