Air fryer Sweet Potatoes Fries
Hey Friends! I hope your are doing well during this holidays. Holidays are not easy when you are Vegan and your family is not. It could be hard. But talk to them. Tell them about your decision and Vegan lifestyle. Some tips: offer help to cook, share a vegan dish that everybody can eat and enjoy, be prepared they always have questions! And the most important tis the season, enjoy your family. After all Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions are for sharing in family. Today I want to share with you how I prepared my Sweet potatoes fries without oil in the air fryer. This recipe is for one person but you can always double to make more
3 sweet potatoes (depends on the size, mines were small so I used three)
1 teaspoon chimichurri seasoning powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Aminos ( Bragg's natural soy sauce)
1/2 teaspoon of lemon and pepper seasoning powder
1 1/2 teaspoon of vegan mayo (I used Vegenaise)
1 teaspoon of coconut yogurt (I used So delicious brand, feel free and substitute for a plain yogurt if you desire)
1/2 lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of sriracha sauce or more if you like spicy like me! You can adjust this recipe.
Slice sweet potatoes to create fries
Soak the sweet potatoes in water to remove excess starch, after that dry the sweet potatoes.
The cook time will vary depending on how crispy you like your fries. Every air fryer brand and model also cooks differently using varied watts. I cook mine for about 15 minutes at 400F degrees. If you don't have an air fryer use a pan with parchment paper the results will be the same.
For the sauce just mix all ingredients and whisk very well and adjust the flavors. You can serve as snack, a quick lunch etc..
If you are not sure start with 12 minutes let them cook, open the air fryer and check your fries if they are not crisp or golden as you wanted increase 2 minutes and check again.
